27/11/2020: End of lockdown, and rules for the resumption of shooting
Members will be aware that the current Lock Down is coming to an end 2nd December 2020. This should mean that we are able to resume shooting on the Welbeck Field. As an organised sport we are permitted but as we are in level three stringent restrictions must remain in place. We are subject to the legal requirements of Track and Trace, so as before we cannot permit a “just turn up and shoot”.
We are returning to the pre booking system by Email to Keith at firstname.lastname@example.org. He has kindly volunteered to administer this again.
He needs your details in the following order please.
- Membership Number
We respectfully remind all members of the strict Social Distancing measures that level three requires. You must wear gloves when handling equipment, take your own target face and take it home again afterwards. It will be one target per lane and one archer per target (unless with a family member who lives in the same house) together with the advice to wear face masks, etc, when 2m social distancing is impossible. It is the Archers personal responsibility to comply with the regulations and those relating to travel (potentially) in or out of a different area.
In anticipation of the resumption a working party has been to the field and mowed the shooting lines etc. We are ready to go and look forwards to seeing you all soon. For those that have not been able to practice for some time please take it steady to start with.
01/11/2020: Shooting suspended due to national lockdown
Well, it’s all been taken out of our hands. It is regrettable but we have to accept that all our shooting at Welbeck is banned under the lock down rules.
The committee will continue to monitor the situation and as soon as we can resume shooting we will do so. We look forward to this day, and in the mean time keep safe.
